About We Own Everything, LLC.
WOE Origin Story
2020 was a year full of turmoil. There was a global pandemic and a nationwide lockdown. That year, we also saw racial injustice front and center on our TV screens while isolated in our homes. George Floyd. Ahmaud Arbery. Breonna Taylor. The list goes on. Too many Black lives were lost to the same injustices we've been fighting for decades, centuries. It was another tough time for Black people in America, but Thomaesa B. Bailey, Esq. wanted to do something. She decided she needed to use her gifts to help Black people make real change in their communities. To do that, she created We Own Everything, LLC. to help empower citizens, especially Black and marginalized groups, through political education. By helping them understand the political process, WOE equips citizens to make change by helping them secure and maintain political power.
Meet The Founder
Thomaesa B. Bailey, Esq. has spent over 11 years driving impactful advocacy and policy work. Her passion for politics began while earning her Master’s in Social Work at Georgia State University, when she followed the lifecycle of a bill on campus carry and saw firsthand how legislation shapes communities. That experience inspired her to attend law school and deepen her understanding of the law and policy.
Bailey’s career has spanned nonprofit, government, and campaign work. She founded her own nonprofit, FROM BOYZ 2 MEN, INC., gained experience in criminal justice reform with the Southern Center for Human Rights, and helped extend foster care funding through coalition work at the Multi-Agency Alliance for Children. She went on to serve at the Georgia Municipal Association, representing cities across the state, before moving to Washington, D.C. to work in the U.S. House of Representatives as both Legislative Counsel and later District Director.
She later joined Stacey Abrams’ One Georgia Leadership Committee as the first Director of Constituent Services on a campaign, building a groundbreaking department focused on community needs. Today, Bailey serves as Chief of Staff for a Detroit City Council member and teaches at Wayne State University’s School of Social Work, introducing students to policy and advocacy.
Through We Own Everything, LLC., Bailey brings her expertise and passion full circle—empowering citizens, especially Black and marginalized communities, with the political education and advocacy tools to create meaningful change.
